LANGLEY: On Wednesday, March 3rd Langley RCMP’s Street Enforcement Unit along with officers from IMPACT (Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team) were patrolling Langley City in response to a recent spike in auto thefts.
At approximately 3:10 p.m. one of the officers located a stolen Chev S10 Pickup truck eastbound on Douglas Crescent from 206 Street. Police computer checks indicated the license plate on the vehicle was stolen. A short time later, the officers from IMPACT were able to identify the driver.
The vehicle stopped near Douglas Park and the driver exited the vehicle and was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property. Police determined the truck itself had been reported stolen in Langley on March 1st.
The driver, Cody BALL, aged 21 of Langley, is also prohibited from driving. BALL has been charged with two counts of Possession of Stolen Property under $5000 as well as one count of Operating a Motor Vehicle while Disqualified. He is currently remanded in custody and will appear in court on March 12th.
Cody BALL also stands charged with four counts of Breach of Probation, an additional count of Drive While Disqualified and two counts of Driving while Prohibited contrary to the Motor Vehicle Act relating to previous incidents.
