On Juky 1st, 2010 @ 18:30 hrs the Cariboo Regional Traffic Services Unit attended a single vehicle collision just south of Quesnel. A 2010 Chevrolet pickup with a lone male driver heading south bound went off road right, rolled and trapping the driver inside his vehicle. The male driver from the Williams Lake area who was in his 50's was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Alcohol and Speed have been determined not to be a factor. It appears that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel prior to going off road. The investigation is still in it's early stage and any witnesses are requested to contact Cst. Tyler BRAUN of the Cariboo Regional Traffic Services Unit at 250-992-9211.
Sgt. Reinhold WEISSBOCK Area Commander of the Cariboo Regional Traffic Services Unit would like to remind anyone driving that if you feel tired, please pull over and get some rest before proceeding any further. That 5 minute nap could save your life.
