Police continue their hunt for Shaun Richard FUNK, the 35 year old man wanted Canada Wide for two sexual assaults, robbery, break and enter, and kidnapping in both Ladysmith and Squamish, BC.
Since obtaining two Canada Wide warrants for FUNK's arrest last Friday, police have worked with the media to spread FUNK's image and descriptors around the Province. As a result of this media coverage, new information has been gathered by RCMP on Vancouver Island, including a more recent image of FUNK. Given the nature of this new information, police will not discuss it's origin or details publicly. We will however, release the recent image of FUNK, taken within the last 6 months.
FUNK is a drifter, who has no known vehicles or residence. He has a history of drug addiction, and is known to stay in camp sites. He has a history of racking up tabs at bars, and leaving without paying. Police can confidently place his last whereabouts on Vancouver Island, in late September.
Police are renewing their appeal for public support in locating Shaun Richard FUNK. He is described as:
"As a result of increased public pressure through the media, we are confident that we will apprehend Shaun Funk", states Cpl. Darren Lagan of the Vancouver Island RCMP. "As long as he remains at large, there remains a risk to public safety. If you have seen Shaun Richard Funk, call your local police immediately."
