LANGLEY: On February 2nd at approximately 12:30 p.m. an individual completed some personal banking at the Bank of Montreal near Willowbrook Mall. He withdrew a sum of money, got into his vehicle and drove east on Willowbrook Drive. As he passed 200th Street, he noticed what he believed to be an unmarked police car behind him with a red and blue visor light activated.
The driver pulled over and a male “officer” in plainclothes approached the victim asking for his driver’s license and registration. The driver was directed to step out of his vehicle when the “officer” noticed his license had expired. He was handcuffed and placed in the rear of the “police vehicle”.
The “officer” who had made contact along with a second “officer” proceeded to search the victim’s vehicle. When the search was complete they returned to their “police vehicle”, released the victim, removed the handcuffs and warned him to get his license renewed.
The victim went about his business attempting to purchase some food and found that his cash withdrawal had been taken from his vehicle, likely during the “search”. He then called the real police to investigate.
The suspects never identified themselves as police officers, this was an assumption made by the victim based on his observations. The investigation indicates the individuals were NOT police officers and the vehicle was NOT a true police car.
The contact “officer” is described as:
• Caucasian
• 28 – 31 years old
• Blond hair
• Wearing
o grey t-shirt over top of soft body armour
o black holster with a black gun
The second “officer” is described as:

• 29 years old
• Black hair
• Wearing jeans and a black t-shirt
