I am so proud and happy to be Canadian when I read articles like I did this morning in the Vancouver Sun about the huge poppy bust. It is not because I feel that the RCMP are doing their job but because I feel safer and more proud to live in a country that has morals and principles. I lived
in the U.S. for many years and learned alot about people's priorities. I realize very clearly why I returned home and am thankful. Again, great job and thanks for keeping us safe!

I just wanted to say thanks to the Langley RCMP members who attended our financial institution after it was robbed on Friday Aug 20. Your quick response and calm demeanor was much appreciated! Everyone from the responding constable, to the Ident section, and the ERT team did a fantastic job!

I'm just writing to commend the Nanaimo RCMP, specifically Officer Jeff Wall and Corporal Paul McIntosh for their wonderful work in retrieving my purse and all it's contents today after it was stolen out of my truck and for arresting the thief. I know that the police have a difficult job, and I am so grateful to them for the great job that they do!
Thank you so much!

On the 12 July 2010, my Wife and I were travwlling from Blue River to Merritt B.C We experienced a flat tire on our 5th Wheel at about 12 noon. With the assistance of a female Officer who contacted BCAA Road Assistance as our cell phone had no coverage in the area. She remained with us till assistance arrived and directed us to the local tire shop. It is Constables like this young lady who are a credit to the force.

We would appreciate it if this email can be forwarded to the OIC of the detachment so they may let this fine Constable know.

Thank you for your thorough work on the so called You Tube Assault case. I read some of the media stories during the trial, and while I'm sure it was a team effort, I want mention Const. Trevor Busch. From the story I read it appears he did a standout job getting at the truth of what happened in the minutes leading up to the fight. We rarely see details of how the police actually do their jobs, but in this case the trial evidence indicated Const. Busch showed determination and skill and I'm sure it's much appreciated your community.

Tonight at midnight my tire blew out while driving on highway 99. I called my dad and he was coming to change it (yeah, it's embarassing but I don't know how to change a flat). Anyways, an RCMP cruiser pulled up behind me and a super nice officer helped me (okay, he did it by himself) change my flat. He was very nice and friendly and that I know that is not in his job description but he helped me out anyways. If I didn't have a boyfriend I would've totally gotten his badge number ;) I think his badge said Miller? Young, blonde, tall, very attractive and super nice. I wish I had gotten his name so I could tell his boss about his great employee! Thanks again officer! You went above and beyond!

Thanks to the polite officer who apprehended a fleeing, prohibited driver in Chemainus BC at about 9:30 this morning. It is appreciated that even with the busy work load in the southern fringe and Duncan area of the North Cowichan district, there is a polite and professional presence in our town. I also appreciate the officer having the beater towed away and not having it left on the street.

I want to extend a special thanks to the captain and crew, (Cal, Clarence, and John) of the vessal NADON who, on June 27th 2010 went out of their way to escort us and our partialy disabled boat about 25 kms up the tahsis inlet to safety at the Westview Marina.

The marina's mechanic was able to get us a new steering system and have us back on the water in two days. Thanks again for your help and for going above and beyond.

I wanted to say something yesterday...but was overwhelmed.

To say that the Media has UNDERPLAYED the RCMP Rescue roles in this event, is a huge understatement.

I own a scanner because of a previous job...so I listened ALL morning...  The "young voiced lady" that would not stop searching..she had 3 more to go when she was requested to leave..SHE Rocks! She ended up with the majority of the evacs back where she was..and got them all to the lake

The young men that carried Annie out, well they Rock beyond belief!! (listen to the true radio accounts) <--- award winning in the force.

Just want to say that our Local Men & women deserve HUGE accolades as they went "above and beyond!"

** I am Just naming a FEW incidences, but these were the most predominant.

In a time where the respect is dimming....these people Made the RCMP name Proud!

Cheers to all

Just wanted to drop a note of encouragement to the RCMP of the Kelowna BC detachment. I see you on bicycles, on foot, in golf carts, but rarely get a chance to say hi. I accidentally passed up a new opportunities to offer verbal encouragement on Canada Day so I wanted to drop an email. You men and women do an awful lot that goes unthanked, unappreciated, and sadly, unwanted by those who figure they can break the law. You have helped me on various occasions in the past, and I don't know if I thanked you then or not. . . I don't think I did. . . I saw some of you engage children and families as you passed through Waterfront Park, and I told my own teens, "I hope they are able to enjoy some of this too".

Please know that your efforts are appreciated. I have had friends on the force in other communities and I know how draining your job can be.

Happy Belated Canada Day!

Sincerely,
Marilynn

My friend has recently obtained a job as a Motel Manager in White Rock, BC. Constable Reitmeister was the reporting officer who answered my 911 call in Surrey (at 6PM June 23. 2010). Perhaps my call was somewhat before the fact, but when he appeared, he showed great concern for my worries, and took my concerns very seriously, without judging by act or eye whether my concerns were founded or otherwise. I was very encouraged by the Officers actions, and felt no fear or threat by any of the Officers actions or words. Because of this experience, my trust of the RCMP has been very much enhanced, and Officer Reitmeister should be commended for his concern and Proffessional attitude toward myself and my concerns. I look forward to my next encounter with the RCMP, given Cost.Reitmeister's extremely kind and orderly disposal of his duty on this occasion.

On Thursday June 17, 2010 I was pulled over at a spot inspection on the Overlander bridge in Kamloops, BC. The officer that I spoke with was extremely courteous and I just wanted to commend he and his fellow officers. I admitted to having had one drink that night and he administered a roadside breathalyzer test to ensure that I was telling the truth. I blew a perfect 000 and threw my arms up in the air in celebration! Even though I knew I would be fine as I really had one drink all evening, it was still a nerve-racking situation for me and the officer was very nice throughout the whole process.

There are two ways one could view this situation and I choose to view it in the positive. I appreciate that he would take the time to ensure that I was telling the truth. I appreciate it mostly because there are a lot of people that say they've had one drink when they've really had a lot more! Working in the emergency room I've seen the devastating effects of drinking and driving and I just wanted to send a little positive feedback your way.

So thank you again for taking the time to do spot checks and checking up on those who say they've had one drink, I know some don't appreciate it, but I certainly do.

Sincerely,
Leah

Dear Sir;

I would like to commend two of your Constables, Bryden Hennessey and Glen Clark, for their professionalism and courtesy when attending to our motor vehicle accident on Wednesday June 9, 2010.

You will see by their report that we had been travelling west on a very wet highway destined for Cranbrook, when just over the bridge of the Kooteney River we were surprised by an eastbound car rotating in front of us in our lane. Unfortunately the timing left my husband, Peter, no time to avoid a collision, and we had violent impact.

Since there were many other vehicles on the road, a cell phone user in another car summoned your officers, and they responded very quickly, as did the ambulance.

I am pleased to say that our injuries appear minor, and mostly seat belt related, and we were able to walk away. Both men were efficient and polite and we are all indebted to them for the job they do so responsibly. I would also like to commend the two very efficient and helpful paramedics who attended in the Ambulance. Unfortunately I did not get their names.

Personally, I would like to thank Cst. Glen Clark for his kindness in assisting me out of the car, up the steep sides of the ditch, and his help with our luggage which he stowed and took with us to the hotel in Cranbrook for overnight. He was personable and his attitude certainly helped to ward off any shock which might have been forthcoming on our part.

You can be proud of these two fine men on your team. I wish more people were aware of the calibre of our RCMP personnel.

Sincerely,

Margaret Mills

I'm not sure how to find her, but I need to thank the 9-1-1 call taker who helped me to save my husband's life. Everyone says I saved him, but she did. Mike had already had 3 heart attacks and a stroke, but always walked into emergency. On April 25,2010 at 1:09 in the afternoon I made the call from 604 217 2635, at 32398 Bear Cresent in Mission, B.C. Mike said,"I don't feel well." I asked if it was his heart and he said, "I think so." and he dropped to the ground of a cardiac arrest. My son Kevin helped turn him on his back and I began C.P.R. but I started out wrong and she put me on the path. I have the names of the A.L.S. Unit from Abbotsford and the Unit from Mission. However the 9-1-1 call taker should receive thanks and to know that Mike is alive and has a defibrillator/pacemaker now.

I would like to thank all RCMP members, who work diligently and put themselves at risk to help to keep our neighborhoods and communities safe. You are providing an incredibly important service, in order to keep the Drug Trade from taking a "foothold."

Drugs are obviously, having a daily negative impact on our youth, families, neighborhoods and the community at large.

I would like you to know, there are many citizen's in Abbotsford, who are very greatful for your investigations and interception of drug activites in our city.

I have been following the drugs/crime in Abbotsford, since 2005 and I am actively involved as Neighborhood Watch and an advocate against Drugs.

Thanks again!!

From:  Port Alberni, BC, 2010-05-28

I would like to acknowledge two of your Port Alberni Members and a 9-1-1 Call Taker I had contact with yesterday.

Cst. Clive Seabrook contacted me after talking with a man whose driving as we entered Port Alberni concerned me, especially as he appeared to have children in his car. I have driven on this road over the years and monthly for the last year and never been so concerned despite the road being one of the more difficult that I have travelled. As I did not know the Port Alberni Detachment number I called 9-1-1 and I found the Call Taker (who I understand was located in another city) to easily understand or clarify what I was saying re, e.g. locations, to be very respectful and calm.

Cst. Seabrook called me after he spoke with the driver I was concerned about and I also found him to be very respectful and objective. He also easily understood the areas, driving behaviours I told him about and my concern about the potential for an accident which could cause injuries, again, I was concerned about children in his vehicle, if he continued to drive that way as he seemed to be headed toward Tofino.

I feel that those living, working or visiting Port Alberni and the surrounding area are very fortunate that you have Call Takers such as the lady who took my call and Members such as Cst. Seabrook.

I was in Port Alberni as I had arranged a monthly meeting of Seniors to whom Cpl. Denis Sauve spoke, his topic being "Safety First for Seniors".  Those who attended this meeting were very impressed with the knowedge shared by Cpl. Sauve and the manner in which it was delivered. I was also very impressed. I arrange approximately 7 speakers for Seniors meetings per month in various Vancouver Island communities and found Cpl. Sauve to be one of the best in the way in which he related to the Seniors as well as the appropriate and beneficial information he shared. The way he shared information was very easily understood and appreciated. I feel he did a lot to build confidence in a population we consider to be vulnernable and to benefit from whatever support we can provide for them whether it be health, personal or socially-related. Cpl. Sauve is very obviously a very
experienced Member who those present yesterday agreed is a significant asset to Port Alberni.

I called the Port Alberni Detachment today to confirm who the Vancouver Island Area Commander and Port Alberni OIC were. I spoke with Sgt. Murray who also impressed me as a Member who is respectful and connects very well with vistors to your community such as myself.

Congratulations on your outstanding Members and Civilian Staff such as the Call Taker I referred to, and, your leadership as I believe your direction and example are reflected in your staff.

With sincere appreciation

Diane Gillis

Hello RCMP, BC. I'm writing to express my appreciatioln for the outstanding help I received from Loralee Smandych at your Coquitlam detachment. I'm working on a green card so I can look after Mom down in Oregon, and INS needs a background check. Loralee was very diligent and supportive in guiding me with the paperwork. She's a shining example of why we Canadians are so proud of our RCMP. Kind regards!

From: Tofino, BC, 2010-05-20

At the end of March I crashed my car on the highway coming into Tofino. I called 911, and they dispatched the nicest police officer I have ever met to come help us out. I've never been in this severe of an accident, and I didn't know what to do. I wanted to commend the officer for being caring and compassionate, while walking me through the next steps. He talked with us and kept us calm during the whole process, even though I was freaking out inside. I don't think the situation could have been handled any better, and I thank the officer (whose name I can't remember) for the way he handled our situation. It's officers like these that keep my confidence in the RCMP. Thank you.

From:  Armstrong, BC, 2010-05-18

On behalf of the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce, we would like to thank the RCMP for participating in our recent Bike Rodeo.

Warren Smith RCMP Rural Safe Communities, was instrumental in organizing and implementing the ‘rodeo’ part of the event.

The support of the RCMP Auxilliary program was outstanding. A/Cst. Fennell, A/Cst. Jamieson, A/Cst. Ashton, A/Cst. Whinon and A/Cst. Fair checked helments, bikes, distributed MP Foundation ID Kits and other safety information.

Cst. R. Komlos ensured a presence from your detachment which was appreciated and noted by the community. Cst.Komlos worked a night shift and voluntarily attended in the morning which is something to be commended.

Cpl. B. Daly was also involved with planning and implementation. Cpl. Daly took an active role in our community upon being posted here and since assuming a position in Kelowna, has maintained that role including contact with DARE students. We appreciate her support.

Cpl. B. Noonan, SED ICARS Enderby also attended ensuring bicycles met a minimum safety standard. He has taken an active role in events, especially those that promote road safety and youth.

Feedback from the event has been good. We received a phone call yesterday from a parent whose child attended the event and left with repaired bicycle due to the efforts of Cpl. Noonan and A/Cst. Ashton. They spent an extended period of time making sure the student had a bike in good working condition. The parent noted that as a single parent, she had not had the time or funds to take care of this. She felt her son had the opportunity to interact with positive male role models and see RCMP members from a different perspective.

We truly appreciate the efforts put forth by all for their proactive approach and contribution to the safety of our community amd investment in our youth. We ask that you pass on our thanks and a copy of this letter to those involved.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our community.

I am writing to thank your officers and government for the support that you showed over the last year for our fallen law enforcement officers in Washington state.

I am a Marine Corps retired First Sergeant of 21 years that is in envy of the professionalism, discipline and dedication that your officers showed by supporting our community during our difficult times. The men and women of your ranks have a training and heritage to live up to that is second to none.

Please share this with all that were involved.

Just wanted to drop a note to say congrats on the credit card bust next door! To be honest I thought they were just dealing drugs again as the traffic has picked up during the last month over there. You guys sure know how to give a good show! The whole neighboorhood is grateful that these bad news rednecks are gone. I inquired today with the RDN about the property/ house and was told that it would be up for review soon and a decision made about the tear down of it. Hopefully this latest incident will influence their desicion towards removal and we will be able to have our neighborhood back from these thugs. Thank you again and great job!
